Busy as always

Since I last wrote, it has been busy here. I’m trying to knit on a pair of fingerless gloves for DS, wanting to finish my granny square blanket and trying to get everything done.

Last night I drove DS to a local corn maze where he met the other members of his Pathfinder Club for an evening of fun. They spent about 2 1/2 hours running through a huge cornfield that had been cut into a specific design. Other than an increase in his allergies, he had a great time with his friends. I waited in the car, knitting on the aforementioned gloves and got further on them. Still no picture to show. When it was too dark to see, I dozed off and enjoyed a bit of a snooze. Then it was a race back home to see DH off to work.

DD decided to leave really late for class this morning and even though she has her license, she still hasn’t been very open to driving by herself. We had to wait for one school bus and then when we tried to join the line for getting on the interstate, it soon became clear that we were in need of another route to class. The on ramp and interstate were a “parking lot”. Nothing was moving. The GPS was put into action and we were soon on our way. As it turned out, there was a really bad accident on the interstate just ahead of us involving a semi-tractor pulling two trailers, another semi-tractor pulling one trailer, and a small car. DD was approximately 4 minutes late to class, but she did get there and I found out about the accident on the way home because I had to go by where it was on the eastbound side of the road. In the further course of finding an alternative route, DD had to wait for two more buses and go through an unfamiliar subdivision. Needless to say, she learned that next time she shouldn’t wait so late to leave, however she was grateful not to be in the accident.

Tomorrow will be a busy day. We all are headed about 45 minutes away to a Pathfinder Sabbath event for the morning. Hopefully we will be able to leave after church as soon as it is over as DH will need sleep. Then tomorrow evening, everyone should come over to celebrate DH’s birthday. So I’m headed off to get some sleep.
