Six+ inches and cancelled appointment

Earlier this morning

Earlier this morning

It snowed all night and there isn’t quite enough light to take good pictures yet. We woke to a minimum of six inches of snow and it is still falling. Our road is not clear and I’m not sure how the roads are between here and anywhere so I called and cancelled DD’s dental appointment. I will call later this morning and try to reschedule. We will most likely have to reshovel the driveway and front walk before DH gets home from work. He held over for an additional four hours to avoid having to call in and potentially go in early tonight. He wasn’t the only one and I suspect that is mostly because of the snow. It was “supposed” to be gone this morning but I don’t think it will be gone for a few days. It is wet and heavy and my workplace will most likely be full of people having chest pains because they are not used to shoveling this much this early. If this is anything to go by, this promises to be the nasty year–El niño–that I was afraid of. This is way more snow than we are used to getting this early in the season. Now we’re off to eat a warm breakfast of Amish baked oatmeal, scrambled eggs, Stripples, coffee for me and milk for the kids. Then it’s schoolwork for DS and DD hopefully will help me with stuff around the house. I hope everyone is staying warm and safe!

PS: The snow is still coming down and we already have about an inch more to shovel out front. more pictures later.

This was our second snow storm of the season and we got about 4 – 5 inches of big fluffy stuff, but it’s already gone. Even driving to work this morning, the roads were just wet. It was so weird!

(We did have a service for someone at work after the first storm who passed while he was shoveling. So sad!)

    • The driveway and sidewalk are mostly clear after three shoveling sessions, though the same can’t be said for the roads around here. It will be interesting to see what DH finds when he goes to work tonight. I don’t think we reached freezing today and so the piled up snow along the sides of the driveway will most likely be there in the morning. Tomorrow’s high is supposed to be 25°. So glad that your roads were just wet but sorry to hear about the loss of someone at your work.

Oh eek! That’s my bad for being unclear. I work at a funeral home. 😛

Sounds like you’ll have some time to get cleaned out.
